The Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association has named Anna Rupani, Academic Excellence Fellow and president of the Minority Students’ Association, as this year’s recipient of the Honorable Reginald Lindsay Public Service Law Book Award. Each year, the MBLA asks all of the area law schools to nominate one or more students of color who embody those qualities that made Judge Lindsay a respected federal jurist for so many years: intellect, compassion, leadership, and a commitment to public service. Ms. Rupani was selected for her service to the law school community and for her outstanding work with students from the Jeremiah Burke High School in Dorchester as part of New England Law | Boston’s Legal Scholar Mentorship Program.
Ms. Rupani will receive the award from Cheryl Lindsay, Judge Lindsay’s widow, at the MBLA gala on Thursday March 28, 2013.
